Seeds

Words on a page
words on a phone

Frequent words
needed words
gentle words

*surprising*

Words that
almost
feel like
love

*how*

Without touch
without smell

Without tongues
tasting skin

How
could love
be growing

*but*

It almost
feels like

*love*

Seeds of love
searching for purchase
in newly

*found*

fertile ground

Seeds is now in the poemblog at voxpoetica. Thanks again to the lovely Annmarie Lockhart for publishing it.

Thanks Estrella,
I also embedded a secret code in this one.

For those of you without your MY decoder ring.... read the words with the * * around them from the bottom to the top.

This was kind of a fun way to play around with the idea of modern day courtship....if you think about victorian times when all they had was letters, this couple is one up from there....
and there's probably no chaperone in the room while they're im ing.

Glad you enjoyed it.

I totally got to thinking in terms of Victorian times love and courtship while reading your poem :)

Love the rhythm, especially in the "Without touch/without smell/Without tongues/tasting skin part. Lovely and wistful and sweet. (Perfect for Sunday!)

I like this one very much. Lovely thought for a beautiful day (where I am, at least.)

Thanks Linda. I enjoyed writing it.
It's not quite so beautiful in Ohio outside, but the lake was something to see today. It was raging and the sky looked like someone had painted a background full of clouds that dropped right down to the water line...so cool.

Thanks Judy!
I always say that if you can't actually HAVE touching/tasting etc on a lazy Sunday at least you can read or write about it.

[grins at you]

But the first way is way way better.

Hugs honey.

I lost my secret decoder ring so I appreciated the tip. :) Lovely words.

Thanks Laura,
I put a new decoder ring in the mail for you just now. I was out of the purple ones like you had before [so sorry]

The one I'm sending you is the special writer's edition Miscellaneous Yammering decoder ring... it emits a low pitched whine in the presence of typos...so you'll have that going for you.

That last comment morphed into a new random thought Laura, so you get a gold star for the day. [I'll put it in the envelope with the ring.]
