Roughing it.....

When I want to get back in touch with my pioneer roots, I buy unsliced bread.

Of course, then I have to deal with the dreaded resurgence of bread slicing elbow....

Ah, there's danger in everything, isn't there? Teehee.

Thanks for my morning giggle. :)

And if you use an axe Gracie? It just smushes the bread.

And then it won't fit in the toaster.

I lost a cousin to the great bread slicing elbow epidemic of '04. You really can't be too careful.

This put me in just the right mood. :) And now I want a sandwich. Cut me some bread?

HA!!! @ Laurita. That slayed me. *doffs hat*

*cuts Laurita some bread*

....adds cold chicken, red leaf lettuce, mayo and some zippy dressing.

Axes, bread knives, zips, oh my!

What a dangerous place this is on a Saturday morning.

*goes way muttering about how dangerous red leaf _anything_ can be*

Oh my gosh Kevin, speaking of the dangers of red leaf lettuce....last night I made myself a huge salad and was sitting eating it watching this amazing thunderstorm. A few bites in this really interesting beetle crawled up out of the leaves and walked around the rim of my pretty green bowl.

[I'll wait while everybody pictures that]

Well, I caught him and then had to wait for the deluge to slow down so I could get him out the window. He would have drowned otherwise.

....and yes, I did eat the rest of the salad.

They make unsliced bread now? Wow! What'll they think up next?

Strange but true, Eric. And remember you heard it here first.

Once I see a bug -it's all over. Thank you mom, and the half a slug I found on my fork. (Not once but twice in my childhood) And yeah it was the leftover bitten half.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww Cat. I love all bugs except slugs. I Hate even touching a slug because they're so slimy. If I had ever eaten one the vomiting would have been epic. Epic I say. Minstrels would have sung songs about it. People would have reenacted it on Youtube. There would have been a day on the calendar celebrating/commemorating it.

In short?
[it would have been bad]
