I woke up at three am because I said out loud:
"You know who looks great in a cowboy hat? Tom Selleck looks great in a cowboy hat."
The funny part is I don't have any idea who I was talking to and I have not even a fragment of memory about what I was dreaming. But I won't dispute what I said, because Tom Selleck does look great in a cowboy hat.
The fact that at least half of you have now created an image in your head of Tom Selleck wearing only a cowboy hat doesn't have any bearing whatsoever on my nocturnal ramblings. But hey, come to think of it, maybe I can go catch another forty winks....I love it when inspiration for a creative endeavor comes out of nowhere like that.

Hmmm... that's interesting, to say the least :P
And great visuals, both you waking yourself up and Tom Selleck in a cowboy hat.
I usually giggle when my fiancé snores and wakes himself up. And if he does it while the TV is still on, I give him the "Now didn't that sound awful? Stopping any time soon?" look ;)
The weird thing is Estrella, that to my knowledge I've never spoken in my sleep before. And I don't dream about celebrities, so this was a weird weird dream for me to have...laughing... but not as freaky weird as the only other real dream that I've talked about onblog. That one happened last year right about this same time.
That dream was cool freaky. But if you read one then the other? It's hysterical how far apart they are on the zen chart.
Although.... I could see Tom Selleck and Buddha sitting down together for some pie.
Happy Monday sweetie.
:0)
chaps...
And now I can't get that image out of my head... Tom and Buddha both wearing cowboy hats and eating pie.
Hmmmm... maybe it's a writing prompt? LOL
I love your musings. Dreams *ARE* weird!
That's a great writing prompt Cathy. I only have one question.... what kind of pie?
[you're so fun to play with]
Tom Selleck in only a cowboy hat. Yes, that's quite a rich visual... er, what were we talking about?
Since Buddha's the jolly one, he's bringing the pie. I vote for peach-blueberry-- yum. Or if you want to go nutty (ahem) there's always pecan. :D
*Debates ignoring Alan completely while laughing hysterically.*
oh man.."chaps" ...combined with Cathy's comment... I'm ROFL..I stopped the visual at Tom Selleck. I just CAN NOT put Buddha in buttless chaps in my head. I CAN NOT....
Shame on you.
ow...I hurt myself laughing...
I often feel like I'm going nutty Gracie. Lets go with the pecan.
*hugs Gracie*
[skips off to eat lunch before she puts somebody's eye out from being giddy]
A cowboy hat would go great with that moustache. Too bad you had to wake up...
Google "Tom Selleck cowboy hat" Laurita.
*happy sigh*
And I love that the word "google" can be used as a verb. Ah, the simple things in life can bring such joy.
chaps...no, no, no - stop that right now, all of you
well, that's changed the outlook for the day, hasn't it?
Buddha in a cowboy hat, and cherry pie (oops, now we have Twin Peaks and Kyle MacL to add to the mix - sorry about that).
Happy Monday?
Yes, I've been having a lovely Monday Kevin, thank you. Saw the BEST sunset over the lake last night. The air was so heavy and full of haze the colors were magnificent.
I'm not taking credit for the chaps. The chaps are Alan's fault..oh man..yesterday he lured folks from twitter to his blog promising a photo of himself in buttless chaps.
[I'll wait while you to visualize that]
He turned out to be in a tuxedo ...which was none too shabby either I must say....laughing..
Thanks for stopping in my lovely friend.
:0)
That actually sounds like an almost "normal" dream for you - someone human and everything...
I've been having a lot of human dreams the last few days Laura. Most of them are funny. I had one this afternoon that I'm going to write because I know EXACTLY what my subconscious was trying to tell me that I need to do.
Sometimes you lock away too many good things when you have to lock up some of the bad things. The good things want me to bring them back out into the sun and they're a knockin on my dream door.
:0)
Well, dang it, I'm in the wrong half. I pictured only his face, the hat and the mustache. I feel cheated.
Straight From Hel
What's really annoying is that now I want to go watch magnum PI cos the only thing better than a cowboy hat is a Ferrari. :D
LOL! Well, heck, Helen, you're a writer AND an editor. I suggest you rework the scene in your head as many times as you need to til you get it right.
Practice makes perfect.
...giggling...just giggling...
Tom Selleck in a cowboy hat driving a hot car.
You guys talk amongst yourselves for a while....
Hmm. Well, I guess that's better than dreaming about Higgins in a cowboy hat and nothing else...
That was just mean, Kris! Pardon me for a minute while I go in the back and claw my inner eyes out....
Karen!
You are so funny, Hon. So weird how we do this. I've awoken saying many things too, and normally write stories about it.
And Tom Selleck DOES look good in a cowboy hat. No wonder you ain't sleepin'. LOL
Hello Jodi my love, I slept great last night. And I don't remember having a single dream. But just so you know? I've started work on that Lucid dreaming stuff so I can steer any future cameo's by Mr. Selleck.
To borrow a phrase from Carrie...hubba hubba....
:0)
Selleck does look great in a cowboy hat. I'd rather see him in pants and a cowboy hat, but it's your fantasy, ma'am.
*giggles at John*
