Shiver me timbers....

I've always been a fan of cloudscapes. I especially love it when the sky looks like a painted backdrop. I took these photos over the weekend when I noticed a storm brewing up from one direction with seemingly unconcerned skies in the other direction.

There's something in the second photo that I want you to notice.

The last image is a cropped detail of the second photo. Hopefully you can see what I saw and what prompted the title.

I love it when the universe shares my sense of humor. Or in this case my love of the macabre.

Aye, I see it, lass. Capn'Cloud was looking at you with expression that seem to say, "Arrgh. Tell me where ye hid the treasure chest or yer'll walk the plank!"

The sky does look like a painted backdrop. Gorgeous. Especially with the Capn'showing his mug!

I like Captain Cloud. That's a great character name. I've just absconded with it clutched to my chest and I'm keeping it for my very own.

Bwahahahahahaha

Well, unless you want me to share. I'm not unreasonable you know. Which is actually the #1 reason I keep getting ejected from the Evil Villain Clubhouse.

I like him! Alas, I don't do pirate talk like Mari-girl...
Actually, he does look menacing, Karen. Did you steal his parrot? I think you should be hiding under the bed.

I think I should be walking around with a sign that says:
"Repent ye sinners...."

Arrr. That be a fine flock of photos (why do pirates like alliteration so much?)

Really gorgeous, and the second one looks a little sinister now that I can see the Capn' looking down.

Back to swabbing the deck!

I don't know why pirates like alliteration Laurita, that's one of life's little mysteries.
[I think it's #468, but I'll have to check the list]

I always liked the jolly rogers.

Have often flown the flag from a vehicle meself matey, but it was a bit unsettling to see the sky flying it.

Good thing I have my End of the World Emergency Kit all packed and ready:
A snickers bar, a flashlight and some dry socks

Cool! Tring to analyze your cloud pix reminded me of what it was like trying to make sense out of the ultrasound pictures from my pregnancies. Not that my babies had scraggly beards and eyepatches or anything.

Karen from Mentor said...

Mine looked like ET in the later ultrasounds.
All big eyes and that one glowing finger tip. It really freaked me out the first time she stuck it in my belly button.

I don't see the pirate itself, just a skull, witch is good enough for me, heh.

Nice pictures! I too always pay attention to the shape and color of the clouds. They're gorgeous out here. :)

Karen from Mentor said...

I only saw a skull too Mari.
I think Marisa has that strain of Johnny Depp fever that's going around right now.

I hear he's showing up a lot on toast this month.

Hmmm... saw the skull in the second photo, before reading your post (bad habit, I always look at the pretty photos before reading) :P
Gorgeous photos Karen, love cloudscapes myself (did you see the upside down avalanche over at my place, posted before I left?)

Okay, need to get going now... I'm beginnging to tyep nonsense and leav out charates ;)

In the spirit of typing nonsense:

There's also either a giraffe with a REALLY short neck or a horse with a really high hairdo looking back over its shoulder in the first photo.

[I think we both need a nap]

It seems Laura's Death character may be turning up in more than "A Shift in Dimensions".

That can't be a good thing, can it?

Great photographs, Karen. And nice catch in that second photograph.

Kevin, the best bit is I didn't see the skull in the sky while I was taking the photo. I saw it on the camera's digital display about a minute later and by the time I got back out of my car and looked at the sky it had evaporated. So it was an extra lucky catch.
*feels special*
