Ghostly leftovers....

Every  time I climb
into my bed
you’re there

A will o’ the wisp
haunting my nights
fleeting , ethereal

Ever again solid in that
pink mist just
before full waking

Your arms
wrapped snugly
spooning me
into a new day

your opening line puts this into an eerie feel...though it ends rather warm, maybe...not sure i want to spoon a ghost...i imagine it might get cold..smiles.

i do like snuggling in the morning but with real arms, not ghostly...that is scary...

At least he's a friendly ghost... :D

That ghost would make Casper himself jealous..haha

he he...I can see the confusion. I am picturing you and a hot little ghost number, in bed munching down on some cold meatloaf :-)

Just kidding. It is very sweet!

Almost like a very lucid dream. A very sensual poem. Awesome.

thanks Raven, that's what I was going for, the feel of floating around in the nearly dream state, where experiences feel incredibly real even if they're only a memory we've stored.

the unconscious is such a cool place. Who knows what lurks there...

appreciate you taking the time to stop in.

so what kind of ghosts are you having in your bed in this halloween season...? smiles...seems it's a nice and warm one..

this is very sweet, with a touch of eeriness :)

I wouldn't have connected the dots to form a ghost snuggle there (maybe I'm just too sleepy still?).
However, the look back to gone sweet memories could feel like recalling ghosts of the past.

And I hit enter before also adding how much I loved this poem (No maybes, I am too sleepy still...) ;)

Oooh, I'd like to be haunted like that. Your poems always give me warm fuzzies, although this one has a side of cold shivers.

Karen from Mentor said...

that's so funny Laurita. I didn't even see the literal interpretation of this being an actual ghost in the bed until a couple of people commented. Then I did a *headdesk* and said, oh yeah, it's halloween and I have "ghostly" in the title.....*laughing*

glad you got both fuzzies and shivers from this. Thank you for taking the time to comment my lovely friend.

As I drop off to sleep, AND begin to awaken for the day, it is true that I could focus only on a ghost. But it is a ghost I know--very WELL know, in fact! (And I do not tell her how she is 'seen' at those hours--grin!)

Thank you Karen, and PEACE!
