My excuse? It was the eighties…..and I was stylin’

Impulse shopping on the way to a dance club

The first time I went shopping for a car on my own the salesman came out to the lot where I was looking over a car and actually said

"So, are you a working girl?"

I probably should have rethought stopping while wearing a mini and pink stilettos…….

*sigh*

But I did get a heck of a deal…..

Oh yes, the 80's...those were the days! I agree, a photo would be priceless.
Thanks for the laugh!

Did you have the big hair working for you? That's a must!

LOL Rachel.

The best part about her sighing minions? Is I think [think mind you] that her reactions to my stories did truly start out as horror when I revealed stuff to you guys, but now? I think she secretly enjoys the part she plays in the comment thread.

And just fyi? My kid is so awesome....why?
[you might ask]

About ten minutes ago she called me while walking to class and said "ok, you know what I just saw? I just saw a SPARROW eating a chicken leg...and that's just WRONG!"

*happy sigh*

Kris,
My natural hair is poker straight and would no way lend itself to big hair.... BUT...

For a couple of years I had a long spiral perm.
If I washed it and put it up in a bun and let it dry that way when I took it down I had a HUGE lion's mane. That was fun for special occasions. But didn't last long once the dancing started.

Estrella,
A photo would have SO made the post.

But it would have probably also caused widespread panic [GREAT band name] so I think it's better left to the imagination.

You're welcome for the laugh Danielle,
I was just talking about the resurgence of eighties era stuff last night. Not sure how fondly I remember a lot of it...but I did love the shoes...

You have artist friends, maybe if I describe the outfit you could get one to draw a sketch for me and I'll post that.

hey! maybe Linda'll do it...

Thanks for stopping in.

Thanks for your humorous salute to the 80's. I didn't have big hair either. Although, I wanted to be Stevie Nicks, I had to settle for the Pat Benetar look.

Ok, now you've done it Linda.
I have my Hits of the Eighties cd on and am dancing around to Hit me with your Best Shot......

oh! Simply Irrisistable just came on....

gotta go get my guitar and stand around pretending to play it while being objectified with all the other girls....

That might have been the only 80s look I was able to get right. Big, frizzy hair (little tiny face.)

Karen from Mentor said...

Oh but JUDY!!! You ROCKED the leg warmers....

Wait... what kind of car was it?

Karen from Mentor said...

Hey Tim,
It was a mustang. And the funny thing? I was trading in a mustang and when I brought the old one in and parked it in the lot a motor mount broke JUST as I shut the engine off and they STILL let me trade it in.....
