Maybe if you squint......

Look hard
Can't you see the fairies dancing?
There, just ahead of your glance
One phase beyond the normal reach of human vision
Behind this blade of grass
Under this dandelion
All around this moss
They dance, they play, they love
A teeny tiny step outside of your everyday periphery

On my walk today I will look very hard for the fairies.

I know that so many wondrous things occur just outside the periphery, and I want to experience them!

Beautiful picture.

I'll be sure to look for them a bit later on my walk. Didn't really see them before, but maybe it was because of the sunglasses ;)

Lovely poem honey and that's a pretty photo!

Both poem and photo are beautiful! I often wonder what it is I glimpse out of the corner of my eye.
What are you mending?

Oh, I see one, I see one! oh...wait. no. just some coffee on my screen. Spring has definitely sprung, which is what this poem/pic combo remind me. Creativity is fresh and green.

Glad you're mending!

This St Paddy's day parade I saw the fairies dancing. Council tried to ban it but they got over-turned. Just right!

Beautiful photo and poem. Fairies are pure enchantment. I'd invite them in if I thought they would do the laundry.

You mean you humans can't see them plainly right out there in the open? [scribbles on notepad....]

Both poem and photo are lovely.

There are fairies in our garden, down under the willow tree by the rhubarb patch. The kids are always down there watching them...

Aw, that is sweet. I think the fairies are visible when you soften your vision, like when you aren't focusing on anything in particular.

Beautiful photo and poem!!

Spring has come and our thoughts turn to grass and trees and fairies and such! Nice pic and beautiful words :-)

So you mean when I'm out walking and I'm overcome with the sense that I'm being watched, it's not just me being paranoid? There could be hundreds of pairs of little eyes watching me?

Dear Lord, I'm never leaving this house again.

um....Kris?

oh, no, no, nevermind.... you're probably right....there's no fairies in YOUR house.

Cat I love the thought of your girls sitting and watching the fairies under the willow tree.
Willows are one of my favorite trees.

*happy sigh*

Tim?
You might have tipped your hand there, sir.

[but don't worry, I scramble the Miscellaneous Yammering feed accessible to the men in black]

Laurita, according to legend if you leave saucers of milk out you get house fairies.
According to Terry Pratchett if you leave hard cider out you get Wee Free Men. And the Wee Free Men are much more fun. Tattooed, rough and tumble and stinkier.....but much much more fun.

Marisa,
Sometimes the things just outside the periphery are the best. But sometimes the things right in front of your face are the things that you need to pay the most attention to.

As I go through the day, I like an even handed mix of the two.

I wish you many wonders on your walks as we slowly meander into spring.

HUGS to you and Laura and Estrella and Anne and thanks for all the smiles over the weekend. You guys rock!!

Anton, that damn council is always trying to overturn something. Honestly! I think they should just relax and try to be more like the flintstones.....

[if you're not familiar with that particular reference, here's the flintstones theme song]

Flintstones, Meet the Flintstones
They're a modern stone age family
From the, town of Bedrock
They're a page right out of history
Let's ride, with the family down the street
Through the, courtesy of Fred's two feet
When you're, with the Flintstones
Have a yabba, dabba, doo time
A dabba doo time
We'll have a gay, old time!

Shannon and PJ,
I absolutely agree that creativity is fresh and green. I LOVE spring green. I'm working on a poem where I compare myself to a shoot pushing up through the awakening earth......

[ego much?] laughing....

Thank you all for stopping in to take a look at my flight of fancy.
