Horatio Horn Blower…..

Well, it's tax day, which is not usually a day of good news, but I've got some to share, so I thought I'd lump it all together.

I had a new piece published at Voxpoetica today.

Click here to see my poem "Erosion"

I found out yesterday that my poem "The Locksmith" is going to be included in the Art Around the World project which will raise money for Greenpeace. I'm pretty delighted about that to say the least. I'll let you know when the project is completed and the book is for sale.

The newest copy of Eclectic Flash Magazine has been printed and I have three pieces in this issue. A poem, an essay and a piece of flash. I've always wanted to accomplish a hat trick. Now I'll have to go for a shoe trick to balance things out.

I told Brad Nelson that I thought I'd only record one of my pieces for the "Voices" page like I did for "Bowling Night", but he wants me to record all three. He's threatening to impersonate me and do it himself if I don't. I might just let him because it'll be a hoot to see him try to get his voice that high. [maybe really really tight pants?] I just hope he doesn't hurt himself.

@ Laurita,
I'm just so impressed with your output this month missy! I'm glad that I didn't announce to all and sundry that I was going to write and post a POEM A DAY for National Poetry Month.

If you want, I will gleefully cheer you on to do it again NEXT YEAR...Want to make an announcement for April 2011?

Your news is SO much better than the one from the tax man.

Congratulations on it all!

Don't let Brad do it. He may use helium and you certainly don't sound like you use that...

Karen from Mentor said...

Oh why why why didn't I think ahead and have the phrase "follow the yellow brick road" in one of my pieces????

*forehead slap*

That would have been a GREAT phrase to hear Brad say while using helium.

Marisa, you can be in on all my evil brainstorming sessions from now on. Laura and I usually meet on Tuesday evenings. How are Tuesdays for you?

@AnneTylerLord thanks Anne, and thanks for what you said about "Erosion" on Twitter. By the way.... I've warned Annmarie that you want to kidnap her cat.

Yay! You deserve all this awesomeness and more! And I love, love, love Erosion.

Karen from Mentor said...

Thank you Judy! Erosion is such a compact poem, but apparently it's open to interpretation because I've already had a bunch of email about it. I LOVE it when that happens.

RE: *gets comfy and waits for foot trick to follow*

Oh good...since you brought it up...will you help me practice? Just until I stop falling over. Shouldn't be more than a couple of days...a week...MAX.

@ Marisa,
Seeing "evil brainstorming session" written out as EBS....of course led me right to....evil bs ..... and that's even better.

See you Tuesday. You're bringing the cookies, right?
