Without a net.....

Flying
into the unknown

Falling
wide eyed

Opening
to gasping oblivion

Unfurling
tremblingly uncurling

Undone

I think of a sensuous trapeze artist who has leapt into the unknown. A risk taker full of regret.

Simply gorgeous. I love the emotion this poem brings on.

I love the way the words tumbled like water cascading down rocks.

Poetry as water. Love that idea Helen.

Wow Jodi, I would never in a million years have seen that interpretation. Especially the regret...but I see it now through your eyes....thank you for the gift of that.

What a wonderful poem! It gives me a sense of freedom and foreboding at the same time. *chills*

@ Kris and Cathy,

Nice. Goosebumps and chills...in the heat of the summer no less.

*looks pleased*

Kris I'm especially pleased to see you commenting since you've said that poetry isn't your thing. [we might make you a fan of poetry yet Kris. Wouldn't that be fun? *starts daydreaming* Kris would be sitting in the van, waiting to pick up the kids, jotting down lines for her newest poem... ah....what a visual]

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment my lovelies.

It's much appreaciated.

Love this. It's exactly how leaping into the big unknown feels. Scary and amazing... becoming undone. Sometimes the same act can take us apart AND put us together. You go, girl!

Puts me to mind of a diver standing at cliff top and jumping into a forward dive into the sparkling water.

Beautiful.

Oh I love that image Marisa. Thank you.

That's exactly right Judy! You know me soooo well.

*happy sigh*

Thanks for stopping in to see me today Laura..I know you're deep in your cave writing... I hope you put your sunglasses on to creep out into the sunlight to visit with us mere [probably] mortals for a while.

*hugs Laura*

Really beautiful. The 'falling wide eyed' creates a wonderful sensation. I just want to linger there.
