Wonder if there's an article about this in Cosmo? ....

Cindy had gone her whole life without her earlobes peeling. So when an alien emerged from underneath the skin it was her second biggest surprise of the day.

Cosmo has articles on any kind of peeling and alien eruption...you can count on them for the info.

Good to know Laura. But I think you might have meant to type "erection"

*I can feel this thread getting away from me already*

Laura Eno said...

Yes, the thread has now spun into the land of chaos and innuendo because you forgot to tether it with velcro...or a garter belt.

Am I helping?

Karen from Mentor said...

yes you're helping eversomuch. thank you.

[I love laura]

I like your story but the comments make my insides feel funny.:0 You guys crack me up!

Karen from Mentor said...

um GP... do your insides feel funny like we're about to witness a scene like the one in Alien that made me leave the theater?

Don't encourage Laura. We were hatching evil plans of world domination earlier and that really gets her blood going...

Well, that and chocolate cake, but that's a different story.

I'm thinking I'll stay away from commenting this time *I'm not going to touch any of those with a ten foot pole, he said under his breath*

Karen from Mentor said...

Oh that's ok Alan. Laura has her own ten foot pole. Thing is though? It has these weird dangly and spikey things on the end of it that I'm not quite sure what they're for.

Laura Eno said...

I have a plain, ELEVEN foot pole that Alan can use...
And Gen...all I do with chocolate cake is eat it. Remember, it's Karen who owns the flying monkeys...

Well if it has to do with erections, it's gotta be in Cosmo somewhere!

"32 Positions To Shock Your Alien In Bed - You'll Blow His Ganglia!"

Laura Eno said...

I think Tony won...I'm not sure what though. :)

Karen from Mentor said...

*gathers all her little #fridayflash puppies up and puts them back in the basket*

Karen from Mentor said...

I am rather surprised that Tony went with Ganglia though, when the phrase madulla oblongata was right there just dripping with salacious opportunity.

I think Alan has the right idea about commenting about these comments...

Excellent story. Says quite a bit in just a few lines.

There's a cream for both of those afflictions. It's got something radioactive in it - I only tell you in advance so you won't have three surprises today.

Karen from Mentor said...

That's funny John, in November of 09 I told a story about a couple of bizarre beauty products I'd seen and linked back to a commercial where a cleansing product was tested by putting a radioactive material on a model's face and then they used a geiger counter to show that their cleanser removed more of the radiation than the other leading cleanser.

It's in my "What were they thinking?" category.

It might just be that Cindy's a product of that poor irradiated model's gene pool.

Thanks for stopping in Eric. I'm serving coffee and donuts over in the corner by the potted plant where Alan's hiding.

There isn't enough lotion to repair that blemish lol

Earlobe aliens do sound apeeling. [insert groan here]

Perhaps thats where the voices come from.

Karen from Mentor said...

Wow! What an insightful observation Laurita.

I never even considered that idea before.

*starts making earflaps for her tinfoil hat*

Karen from Mentor said...

That's true Magaly, but maybe with a little concealer and a plunging neckline to distract the eye....

Rachel Blackbirdsong said...

Well if the insect gave her "the Big O" it would definitely be in Cosmo. (I didn't mean to rhyme by the way)

Karen from Mentor said...

Rachel, I'm pretty sure that in the larval stage aliens are asexual. But give it a couple days and shazam....

What? Girls talk, word gets around, you hear things...

ganymeder said...

Second biggest surprise? Wow. :D

Karen from Mentor said...

Yes, sadly Cathy, Cindy is not known for her all encompassing world view or for making long range plans much past what shall I wear this morning?....

KjM said...

"What shall I wear this morning...to match my new alien decoration?"

Always the tough questions...

And I am also wondering what the biggest surprise might have been - but dare not ask. :-)

Karen from Mentor said...

Why kevin, that's easy, it was that her earlobes would peel at all of course....

*skips off whistling nonchalantly

This is the flashiest flash fiction ever. And I love it. Especially the fact that it was the 2nd biggest surprise of the day.

Karen from Mentor said...

me too! *grins at Judy*
