Beautiful poem, Karen! Loved the extra touch of spelling out desire...
Thanks so much Laura. I'm getting braver.
[I even linked to some of my other poetry in my sidebar]
deeeeeeep breaths....
:0)
Oh, and the lines of the poem that spell out
d e s i r e will be constructed as intended in the poemblog when it gets archived at vox tomorrow.
There wasn't space to lay it out as a constructed poem on the "today's words" page.
I'm really enjoying the Contributor Series this month at Vox. Bryan's poem yesterday was one of my favorites of his recent stuff.
Beautiful. You are a poet.
Thanks Tim!
Your "Words on a Wire" was supposed to be up today. I just went and looked and I'm still on today's words.
Huh. I don't remember kidnapping you or Annmarie and taking your slot. But that might explain all the rolls of duct tape in the back of my car.
:0)
That's because you asked Jezebel to handle it for you...
Oh that makes perfect sense, well it would if I remembered talking with Jezebel.
Huh.
Where am I? And what planet is this?
[there groundwork laid in case of something awful happening to anyone I know...Jezebel has been known to get a bit carried away]
Hee hee hee, I just checked and "Now that I know" is in the poem blog AND on the front page. So you can see it as it was meant to be read now in the poemblog if you click on the link in my sidebar.
I guess I COULD email Annmarie, but I'm sure she'll notice in a little bit....maybe if I'm still hogging Tim's slot at lunchtime I'll tell her.... yeah, that's what I'll do.
[vastly ashamed of myself....really I am]
:0)
Awwww...... I mean....
YAY! Tim's poem is up now on Today's words.
It's actually one of my favorites of his.
Go check out "Words on a Wire" at voxpoetica.
[slinks off sad that her extra day of glory was usurped by its actual rightful owner...sigh]
Visual poetry! A beautiful vispo!
Yes, the bringing tea without being prompted is MAJOR...
Aww. Tim, share the glory day with Karen.
Don't be sad, you are still admired for the poet that you are:-) Awesome!
(no slinking off for you, young lady) LOL
Thanks Cynthia!
I just went over to your place and read Lori's lovely piece. Thank you for pointing me in that direction.
:0)
All of those things are MAJOR for me Marisa. The little things really do matter.
Thank you for traipsing over to take a peek at my innermost desires....
Going to go shout them outside every day til someone turns up.
What?
It might work.....
:0)
Love the visual, audible (love how it sounds with the spacing), conceptual expression of knowing what you want--your desire. Congrats!
Oh Melissa, I love that you read it out loud.
Your experiments with visual poetry are beautiful. I was just poking around at your place.
Thanks for taking the time to come see mine.
:0)
Ok, here's what I'm talking about when I say Twitter makes me want to work blue......
Tim tweeted this in response to the above hijinks:
I have a bump on my head and feel sticky. Where did this duct tape come from? @AnneTylerLord @EstrellaAzul @lauraeno @karenfrommentor
My knee jerk reaction? To retweet just the first line. hee hee hee....
oh man...
Your poem is beautiful. I read it this morning and the formatting was off, I still saw the word desire bolded, but I am glad you were able to get it aligned, now it is visually better. I have a terrible time trying to get my poems formatted as I want. The simplest things become almost impossible.
This poem was simply elegant and sensual.
I also read Tim's poem - love the visual of words on a wire.
I saw Tim's Tweet and I told him I didn't do it. I think it had to be Laura or her vast army of cohorts, or Karen - it is right up their alley. Okay, show me your hands, who has the sticky evidence.
Anne, thanks so much for saying that my poem was beautiful AND for taking the time to go back to see it in the poem blog. I was pleased that Annemarie was able to get it formatted once it was archived. I checked this morning and saw that I have a couple of nice comments from Vox readers.
I think this contributor series has been my favorite series to date.
See above for the answer to the duct tape question. I'm claiming the fifth.
:0)
Listen, I'll not have Tim bludgeoned and duct taped. Well, if you must duct tape him, fine, just leave his fingers free to type and leave him concussion free. He's contributed two choice poems to vox poetica and I expect more. Soon. Help me out here ladies!
Hey Annmarie,
*hangs head*.... I'm sorry. I won't speak for Laura, cuz .... well...you know....she has that flaming sword of death and all.....
But at least she didn't use THAT on Tim.
He seems none the worse for wear. :0)
Tim's none the worse for wear...he woke up and wondered why he was sticky... *insert evil laugh here*
Wow. I haven't gotten this much attention from women since... I've NEVER gotten this much attention. [blushing]
