Banked.....
Persuasively you say
you bask
in my glow
and that reflection
is enough to keep you
warm, content, even keeled
But I long for heat
a bonfire of sweaty limbs
and gasping breath
a chemical explosion
of bodies
that won't be denied
a feast where things get
messy, slippery, tangled
The earth moves
in its orbit
and then there's chocolate cake

smokin! You naughty girl.
I hear ya and I totally concur!
Nice, nice work!
Great work, Karen! [keeps remarks short, must take cold shower]
If I fail college now because of all the brain aneurysms it's your fault, missy!
I had to wait until I stopped laughing.
I have a newsflash for you baby....your mom has had s e x.
[but I found you in a cabbage patch...so that's alright then]
It started off nicely
and then, oh my, the next part was steamy and oh so good
And then you brought it home with chocolate cake.
This was satisfying.
Chocolate cake afterwards? Oh thank goodness!
I never learned to smoke.
It's going to be 90 degrees here today in DC. So glad I read this in the cool morning.
Yes, I'm hoping that will catch on Marisa, then when we want to be arch...we can just say... whew...I need some chocolate cake after that....
Starts out nice and goes to steamy that's me in a nut shell Laurita.
Actually, now that you mention it...that's how the dial on my tummy is labeled....no kidding.
I'm so tickled that you enjoyed it.
[april is turning out to be lots of fun]
Or, like Bert in that memorable scene in "It's a wonderful life" you could go home and "see what the wife's doing"
Thanks for stopping in Alan.
:0)
Thank you Cathy,
And I am not one teensy weensy bit surprised that you're right on board with me on this.
hugs!
Karen :0)
Michael...you got it in one. Naughty as opposed to dirty...the nuance makes ALL the difference.
Thanks for being so enthusiastic.
[grins at you]
Poor Rachel...my daughter can sympathize with her (I made her edit "Seducer of her Dreams")
You had to get the chocolate in there I see. ROFL!
This is wonderful, Karen! I'm worried about Alan though...has he come out of the shower yet?
I know Laura! The things our kids deal with. Mom is made of flesh and blood?...And has wants and desires...say it ain't so...
And yes, I worked the chocolate in there...laughing...I told Judy this morning that I still haven't shaken the image you provided me with yesterday.
Gawd....
[and I'm afraid to check on Alan...we'll give him til this afternoon...then check in --he doesn't have any heart trouble as far as you know does he?]
Thank you for saying it was wonderful.
Big giant hugs to you my lovely friend.
Oh my! That was goooooood! *lights cigarette*
lol Sam...no, no, no...weren't you paying attention to my remark to Marisa?
cake..not cigarettes..*sigh* oh well....it probably wouldn't catch on in anyway.
[But at least to celebrate the poem in style you're smoking one of those fancy imports you got on your trip, right?]
:0)
Oh yes, a nice menthol PannĂ³nia, all the way from Slovakia.
Nope, Sorry Sam.
Any way you dress it up, it's still just a stick on fire.
Oh hey....kinda goes with the theme today though.
I STILL think the last word should have been "sauce" instead of cake... :)
You're just trying to make Alan's head explode.
Guilty... ;)
Going to find some chocolate cake and someone to share it with...wait, maybe I have that reversed!
I think either way is good.
Thanks for stopping in.

Love this!
Talk about sensual sentences! And chocolate cake... *blushing*
I think I need to have some chocolate cake nearby from now on... but I guess chocolate chip cookies will have to do meanwhile ;)
Yes, more than enough even-keeled in this world already. Bring the heat and the chocolate
Oh yeah, now that was steamy, sweet and delicious, just right!
I think the black forest chocolate cake is called for here!
Thanks Anne. :0)
*holds out plate*
@ Ray Sharp *clinks glass* ...passes second plate over his way.
Thanks for stopping in Ray.

I giggled at the idea of making you blush Estrella. With all that red hair you blushing would be a sight to see.
Glad you liked it.
Thanks for taking the time to comment honey.
:0)
My my my, that is sizzling!
Sam! You made it. We had similarly heated ideas for the day. Glad you liked it. Loved yours from this morning.
Thanks for stopping in.
Karen :0)
That was pretty good!
Hmmm...might have to dust off my poet's cap and give it a whirl, lol.
Chocolate cake--yum!
I love your poetry Kat. Yes write more. Do it while eating cake. Or wearing a cap.
Maybe a beret?
:0)
Memories, like the corner of my mind,
Misty, water colored memories
Of the way we were............Oh, oh, oh darn.....it was just a hot flash. Crap! I was really beginning to enjoy this afternoon delight. LOL!
Oh Cynthia, I ABSOLUTELY love that interpretation. Never even occurred to me to see the poem that way.
A couple in late life, content, REMEMBERING passion, but having cake instead.
Brilliant!
*skips happily off*
:-)But the night is young!
You minx you.
:0)
I think it's the right of all children to think of their parents as virgins, even when they know where babies come from. We're all allowed denial about some things, right?
Denial...that's a river in Egypt, right?
And yes darling of mine. You can picture me in a chastity belt and halo.
[just leave the key nearby ok?]
Fabulous.
Thanks Wendi!
